Terms & Conditions
When placing an order via our website, by phone or in person when visiting one of our shops you agree to our terms and conditions as set out below. It is important to read through these prior to placing an order.
Samples
Whilst we try to reproduce colours of fabrics accurately, all monitors vary and therefore it is advised that customers use our sampling service to see the actual fabric before ordering. If you require an exact match please ask for a ‘stock’ cutting so that you can be sure that the fabric you order will be exactly the same shade as the sample, as batch variation can differ. Returns cannot be accepted for fabrics (unless faulty) as they are cut products.
Very occasionally samples are labelled incorrectly (we send out 1000s every week), it remains the responsibility of the user to order the correct fabric through the website from the pictures shown. If unsure please get in touch first. If having a fabric sent to a 3rd party, it is the responsibility of the person placing the order to check the fabric is correct prior to the fabric being cut and used. We suggest the 3rd party sends a picture to the person who has ordered the fabric before cutting, once the fabric is cut we can't rectify any issues.
Fabric
Fabrics such as silks and linens often have natural characteristics such as slubs, these characteristics are intrinsic to natural fabrics. Just Fabrics cannot accept returns for such natural occurrences.
With both printed and woven fabrics every effort is made to avoid irregularities, occasionally they may occur. Fabric is not completely stable and it cannot be taken for granted that, whether printed or woven, the pattern will be completely ‘square’ on the cloth. When planning multiple width curtains, please make certain before cutting, that pattern alignment is adequate to produce a satisfactory result. We cannot allow claims after goods are cut. Repeat lengths may vary from roll to roll and we would advise you to be generous in your estimates. Fabrics are not guaranteed against colour fading. Pattern repeat can sometimes vary so please double check repeats before cutting.
SOPHIE ALLPORT FABRICS - Please note that due to the printing method used by Sophie Allport, pattern designs on their fabrics frequently run off. This is most noticeable if using for roller or roman blinds and is not considered to be a flaw.
If you require an exact colour match on a fabric, then please ask for a 'stock' sample cutting so that you can be sure the fabric you order will be exactly the same shade as the sample. Variations can happen from batch to batch and certain tolerances are expected due to printing and manufacturing processes. Customers ordering made to measure products online or through one of our shops should also take this into consideration.
Unless otherwise stated in the product description we advise that all fabrics are dry cleaned.
All orders 4m and under will be sent folded with Royal Mail and larger orders (4.5m and over) will be rolled. All PVC & velvet fabrics are rolled to avoid creasing.
PVC TABLECLOTHS – Our PVC fabrics are not stain resistant and are wipeable only unless stated otherwise. We advise you wipe spillages etc from the PVC tablecloth without leaving it to soak in. Sauces like ketchup etc, can soak in and stain if left too long.
Outdoor Fabrics - whilst being weather resistant, most are water resisitant not waterproof so we would recommend they are taken in at night or when rain is forecast so that the cushion inners or foam do not get wet which can cause rot.
Fire Retardant Fabrics
Our FR (Fire Retardant) fabrics are for domestic upholstery use only, unless specified otherwise.
Fabrics can be treated to either Domestic or Contract requirement for an extra fee. This process takes approximately 2 weeks and costs £85.00 for up to 9m. Please get in touch to request a price for over 9m.
We often get fire retardant clearance fabrics (which otherwise would be dead stock ending up in landfill) from brands such as Next and M&S Home. These come with FR labels, however we are not able to supply FR Certification if you choose to order these fabrics. In most cases they come with a clear FR backing or treatment on the reverse of the fabric, however it's up to the discretion of your upholsterer or yourself whether you decide to use the fabric for upholstery without any further FR treatments.
Always check with your upholsterer first as they can advise you whether you need your fabric treated or if you can use a barrier cloth and to what standard (Domestic or Contract) the fabrics need to be treated to dependant on the use.
JF Contract
JF Contract is our Contract Fabric service. We supply a range of fabrics with Fire Retardancy qualities from a number of suppliers. As these fabrics are from a 3rd party supplier their certification of properties is accredited to the supplier / manufacturer of the fabrics and not Just Fabrics.
Shrinkage / Fabric Appearance
Just Fabrics cannot guarantee that there will not be shrinkage in the fabric subsequent to purchase and make up. Always make allowances for possible shrinkage when making curtains and loose covers. Most fabrics tend to shrink when laundered, cleaned or to a lesser extent whilst in use, in certain atmospheric conditions, especially in homes with underfloor heating. Atmospheric conditions may vary between our workroom and your house and in different weather and seasons. We cannot control these conditions and therefore cannot accept responsibility for movement or the general appearance in curtains or blinds when hung. Heavier fabrics may react to changing humidity; and the control of humidity in a room remains the customer’s responsibility. 5 – 6% shrinkage is considered normal for fabrics not claimed to be shrink resistance. We recommend generous hems loosely stitched in case lengthening is necessary due to any of the above-mentioned points. The cost of making such alterations remains the responsibility of the customer. Please ensure that you have ordered sufficient material to complete the work, as it may not be possible to obtain exactly the same shade at a later date due to minor dye batch variations.

Fabric Price Requests
We reserve the right to withdraw any price offered on a fabric in any given quote both written or verbal. Occasionally prices may be misquoted and in these instances the quote will be withdrawn and payment returned if it has been taken.
Made to Measure Curtains, Blinds and all other Bespoke Soft Furnishings
As these items are specifically made to your requirements they cannot be returned. As with ordering fabrics, we always recommend ordering a fabric sample prior to placing a made to measure order.
If choosing our more affordable machine finished curtains, please be aware that these will have machine sewn hems and the seams will not be pressed. This can sometimes give the appearance of a mismatched pattern repeat, however it is purely down to the manufacturing process.
Please note that for curtains we pattern match from the bottom up and for blinds from the top down, if you require anything different from this please let us know.
If ordering a roman blind with standard lining, please bear in mind that if the blinds are down during the day you will be able to see the seams and rods. Often the lining and face fabric are different widths and will therefore join in a different place, especially when pattern matching the face fabric. Seams may occur in different places.
If you choose a larger roman blind or a blind made using a heavier weight fabric or interlined, please be aware that it may need to be dressed each time it is pulled up.
Please note when ordering roman blinds with blackout lining we use the blackout lining as an interlining and it is sandwiched between the face fabric and the lining fabric. To secure the three layers we use a ‘stab stitch’ which can sometimes cause light to filter through where it has been stitched.

Receiving Goods
Where you order goods from this website or one of our showrooms, you agree to inspect the goods so far as is practicable before you sign and accept them. This applies to anyone accepting goods on your behalf. We may not be responsible for damage to goods that was identifiable at the time the goods were delivered, unless notified to our nominated courier that the goods are damaged at the time of signing. This notification must be in writing.
If you have asked us to send fabric to a third party eg curtain maker or upholsterer, it is your responsibility to ensure that the correct fabric or product has been received before making up commences.
Any queries regarding the measurements, meterage or length of fabric received must be drawn to our attention within 7 working days of receipt. We can only rectify mistakes on the lengths/meterage of fabrics prior to the fabric being cut into. Once a fabric has been cut or altered in any way, we cannot be responsible for any shortages in length. If ordering an item that comes direct from one of our specialist suppliers, original packaging will need to be intact for any claims to be made.
The courier will only attempt two deliveries, after two delivery attempts the goods will be held at your local depot for a 7-day waiting period before they are automatically returned to us. The driver will leave an attempted delivery card if no-one was available to sign for the parcel. For smaller orders (4m & below) sent with Royal Mail, the delivery can be left in a safe place. Please request this by adding instructions in the delivery comments box at checkout. If 'left safe' the driver will leave a card to explain where the goods have been left. Larger orders (4.5m & above as well as PVCs & Velvets) sent with Parcelforce cannot be left safe and require a signature.
After one delivery attempt a second delivery will be made automatically the next working day (Mon-Fri).
After two attempted delivery cards have been left, goods will need to be collected from your local depot. Instructions and details of the number and address for your local depot can be found on the attempted delivery card. The depot will need your consignment number and two forms of identification, one of which must be a photo ID in order to release the goods.
A third delivery attempt can be arranged at an extra cost.

The curtain, blinds and cushion images generated online when creating made to measure products may not display the scale of the fabric to the correct size, which is why we would always recommend ordering a sample prior to placing your order. The pattern repeat is also displayed within each fabric product details so you can understand the size of the patterns.
Orders to the European Union (EU)
All EU orders as of 22nd June 2021 will be sent delivered duty paid (DDP). UK VAT will be removed at checkout and duties and fees will be added.
This service has a parcel length limit of 150cm so any fabrics over this maximum length will be folded to ensure we can send on the DDP service.
Any made to measure roman or roller blind orders that have a width greater than 145cm will NOT be able to be sent via our DDP service. In this instance a member of our customer service team will contact you and explain how we will send the items. They will be sent without duty or fees which will be payable by the recipient in the EU country chosen for delivery. Just Fabrics will then refund the duties and fess part of the order. Unfortunately this is out of our control and currently we can not find a courier to send these items that are over 150cm in length through a DDP service at the moment.
International Orders To The Rest Of World (excluding EU)
All our international orders outside of the EU have UK VAT removed at checkout. Goods will be dispatched without Duty and Fee charges, these which will be payble by the customer when the goods arrive into the delivery country selected.
At checkout we display a banner explaining that any VAT/ Duty and Fees will need to be paid by the customer.
In placing an order you accept to pay any Vat/Duty/Fees and we will not accept any returns on the basis of refusing to pay for any of these fees.
Please be aware that as a UK registered company, payments are converted to pound sterling (GBP) when cleared. For EU and rest of world orders, please refer to the receipt sent to you at time of purchase. Please be assured that when calculating and paying Duties/Surcharges/tax (and the subsequent generation of a commercial invoice) these will have been processed with the currency used when placing your order.
Blind Safety
If the contract includes installation, you may not cancel or terminate the contract if, for any reason, you should decide that you will not allow us to install any safety device that accompanies the goods which means that, as a result, we cannot install the goods at all. In such circumstances, you will still be liable to pay us the full price due under the contract (but this will not affect your legal rights as a consumer in relation to any goods that are faulty or not as described).
We must comply with the regulations. These regulations have been introduced to help to prevent accidental death by way of strangulation to young children caused by them becoming entangled in blind cords. We take our obligations under the regulations extremely seriously. Safety devices supplied with goods must be fitted by us at the time of installation otherwise we may be negligent and perhaps in breach of the regulations. Therefore, if the goods contain any safety device, we will fit this device and ensure that we have complied with the regulations. If you should instruct us that you do not wish to have such a safety device fitted, then we will refuse to install the goods. In such instance, you will be liable to pay us the price under the contract.
Your quotation includes blind/blinds that requires the supply and installation of a safety device(s) to ensure compliance to the General Product Regulations. By law we must install this device(s).
If you change your mind, we have options which are safe by design meaning they contain no, or concealed/tensioned, cords or chains.
