Vertical blinds allow more light to seep into the space due to the individual panes and because of this, it is also very easy to replace part of the blind without having to have the full blind remade. Fire retardancy can be added to these blinds, as well as being Blackout or Dim out.

Roller blinds allow more control over the amount of light coming in as it is one panel as opposed the vertical blinds, making a roller blind blackout will exclude much more light than a vertical blind but light will still bleed through the sides. A roller blind can also be made fire retardant and is more durable that the vertical blinds.
