Colour
At first when I heard marsala was the colour of the year, I thought it was going to be a burnt orange colour with some hints of brown in it, but actually, it is a lovely purple shade with brown, pink, red and aubergine tones.

Pantone
Pantone is the leading colour trend predictor in the world and as well as regularly predicting the colours of each season, every year it outlines the one colour that will dominate both fashion and interiors for the year ahead. This year the colour is marsala.

Marsala Fabrics
Marsala is a colour that really can be brought into your home in almost any way. Here at Just Fabrics we have some great fabrics in this colour that can be used for curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery. You can choose to introduce it in a minimalistic way or go all out.
Velvet
One of my favourite ways to use this deep, rich, colour is in a velvet fabric. This colour lends itself really well to the luxuriousness of velvet. Try using on dining chairs with a mahogany dining table or mix with metallic tones in a living room for a sleek, modern room.
Bedroom
In a bedroom I would match with crisp whites for a contrast look. If this feels too stark for you then you can soften the look with warm oak tones in wooden furniture and accessorise with wool knitwear by using knitted cushions and throws to decorate the bed.

Traditional
I love floral fabrics and tend to choose more traditional designs. The ever popular Ibiza Tapestry fabric is a classic woven tapestry fabric in gorgeous tones. Use on a feature arm chair for a warm and cosy look.
However you choose to introduce this colour, it is sure to add warmth and depth to your interiors.
