Sustainable Fabrics Needed

Sustainable Fabrics Needed

The fast fashion industry, even in home textiles, is creating a serious environmental crisis. Natural resources are scarce and waste generation levels are increasing. We generate tons of fabrics that end up in landfill, turning into slowly decomposing textile waste. Recycled fabrics and organic cottons are a way that we can reduce the environmental impact of fabric consumption and production.

Recycled Fabrics - Plastic

Recycled Fabrics - Plastic

More than 8 million tons of plastic are dumped in our oceans every year. Millions of whales, turtles, fish and other species are affected by plastic marine debris. Recent studies indicate that at least 19 million kilos of plastic has accumulated and is floating in our oceans.* Ocean currents have formed five gigantic, slow moving whirlpools where the plastic collects.

Polyester Yarn is made with used plastic bottles which are ready to be recycled, they are cut, chopped, and melted, then formed into flakes. 100% Recycled Yarn is obtained from these flakes to make recycled fabrics. We have a range of fabric made from recycled plastic such as the JF Recycled Fabric which is made from recycled polyester yarns and recycled cotton yarns.

Recycled Fabrics - Cotton

Recycled Fabrics - Cotton

Recycled Cotton is an alternative to conventional cotton. Cotton yarn is made with recycled cotton fabrics, they are cut into pieces, cotton fibre is obtained and becomes recycled cotton yarn. The Eco Fabric is made with recycled cotton fabric and is available in 5 colourways to suit your home.

Recycled Fabrics - Polyester

Recycled Fabrics - Polyester

Eco fabrics do not always have to be neutral. We have a range of fabrics from a number of European mills that use recycled polyester, cotton and polycotton yarns in the manufacturing of their fabrics. These are bold, colourful and have exotic woven designs such as the Tropical Andes Fabric and Crouching Tiger fabric.

The recycled Polyester yarns are made from the recycling of PET plastic bottles and bottles from supermarkets and other similar outlets. This is helping to stop the flooding of plastic in the seas and oceans and thus helps to protect the environment.

Each fabric is made with these recycled fibers and carries the Ecolife label, and are certified "Global Recycled Standard (GRS) 4.0" by the quality control company "Control Union Certifications B.V." from the Netherlands.
