Watercolour style curtain fabric
Watercolour style curtain fabric prints are big news this summer. Some designers use nature for their inspiration so these are ideal if you want a country style scheme. Others take their inspiration from past designers such as William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement so feature flora, fauna and wildlife. Whilst some use ideas for Impressionist artists such as Monet for their designs so these curtain fabrics have large bold floral patterns.

Pretty pastels
Muted pastel shades in baby blues, sugary pinks and soft greens are perfect for creating a relaxed room which is easy to live in. Curtain fabric can be co-ordinated with tartan or plain upholstery fabrics. Try mixing and matching different designs from the same range. You could use these fabrics for curtains, cushions and upholstery, this will create a comfortable and cosy room. Use traditional colours such as shades of greens and grey/blues for your walls - this will add to the homely feel.

Vibrant and bold
If you prefer bright and bold colours then there are watercolour prints to suit your style. Vibrant shades of hot pink, turquoise and mustard yellow will really add a wow factor to your room. Use a vivid floral fabric for your curtain fabric and then pick out some of the shades for colourful cushions and rugs. Paint walls light neutral colours to keep the scheme light, fresh and airy.

Botanical fabric
Botanical fabric prints are also a key trend and are available in watercolour style prints. Use green as a starting point for your scheme, layer the greens from soft sage to dark forest green. Look for curtain fabric which feature large fern and leaf designs, along with birds and wild flowers. Use natural products for flooring such as wood and textured rugs in sisal or coir. If you want to add a vibrant accent colour try using sunny yellow or for something more muted use pastel pink.

Accessories
As the prints are inspired by nature then fresh flowers are the ideal accessory for these schemes, arrange them in pretty ceramics and glass vases. Artwork should also be inspired by nature, the style should reflect the style of the room so if you have a traditional room then use landscapes, if your room is more contemporary then look for bold floral prints or colourful abstracts.
